As you'll see in the previous post, the game model is about as finished as I'm going to be able to make it by the deadline, which means no boots :( It also means no 50% gray background. There are some extra places I'd really like to work on foremost being the seam around the neck. This should be easy to fix by adding the straps and necklace that the character weas in the concept art. All in all, I'd say it was a pretty good experience and I plan on building my skills further by sculpting more models, albeit at my own pace so as to really hammer in on the anatomy.

J.

Completed Game Model
Here is the completed game model. More on this tomorrow.
Still a bit rough; I'll need to rework some parts before I'm happy.

Game Model Nears Completion
I'm getting fairly close to completing the game model. Here are the pieces I've been able to sculpt so far.
The torso. The Dwarf's belt comes up to about this height, so I won't need to model the lower portion. Still need to work in a good bit of detail. Fingers look funky, but I'll re-work them soon.
The Pants. Really enjoyed working on the mid-section; I've tried to make it look like a rib/antler material. Again, it could use a little more detail, but I like it so far.
That's it for now. I just need to work up the spear and legs/boots and rework the muscles for the neck and shoulder piece.
Best Regards,
J.

Game Assests WIP
Here are a few of the WIPs I've been working on in my game modeling class. Just updates of the previous post really.
First up, the arm guard which, will be reworked for a better fit to the character:
And, now with new and improved anatomical correctness, the belt/pants:
As before, they are works in progress and I'll be working on sculpting the pants a good bit more over the weekend.
Best Regards,
J.

Dwarf Bust Redux
Well, it seems as though I was wrong about scrapping the original bust and we will, in fact, be creating our game models from our chosen heads. Keeping this in mind, I am using the images from the previous post as a guide.
I'm still working out the anatomy, but I think its coming along nicely. This version shows the model with a quick hair set slapped on. Let me know what you think.
Best Regards,
J.

It's Elementary
So, the dwarf bust is currently on hold. Our instructor feels we all need more anatomy practice before we move on to character concepts. Seems about right. At least for me, that is. So, the real person I'll be modeling, due on Tuesday, is this chap who wouldn't look out of place in a Sherlock Holmes story :
That's it for now. I should get to sculpting.
Best Regards,
J.
